TSUNAMI VICTIMS - PRACTICAL
HELP GIVEN FROM CHRIST CHURCH
Aside
from donating money, hear the story of Margaret
Edwards, who went to help out following the disaster

Can you knit? Do you know someone who
has time to make some little teddies for the children of Sri Lanka
who have lost everything? With no toys left and in many cases
no families too, these gifts of teddies become such treasures.
The King will reply,
'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least
of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.'
(Matthew 25 verse 40)
From their visits in recent
weeks Smile have taken many shoe boxes full of things which are
essential, useful, and encouraging for the victims of december's
disaster. On recent visits, the volunteers found that knitted
teddies were so well received, they would like more. They are
placed in the shoe boxes which are made up as a gift for a child.

ASIA RELIEF ACTION
One of quite a few nurses in our parish congregation and PCC Member,
Margaret Edwards from St Andrews, did what many of us wish we
could do when disasters occur: she went to Sri Lanka
on Monday 31st Jan 2005 for a 3 week project to help in Batticaloa
Hospital on the east coast. The matron there asked christian charity
Smile International for nurses to assist, so Smile organised the
first of many Medical teams of people to go and do just that.
Through these pages we will hope to give a
flavour of into Margaret's trip. This we hope will enable you
to feel more informed and able to pray and support the work done
across the region. Click on the link to the right for more information.
