SMILE
for Charity
Margaret Edwards plans to visit Kosavo, to help SMILE to work
with the very poor and sick there. She will leave on 29 March
safe return on 5 April. More info available here

Jo Sayer, explained during her visit to Christ Church she has
now returned from 8 years in the Tanzania mission field, and
is currently looking for full time Christian work in the UK.

March 1st 2006 - Summit Day
for the Kilimanjaro team raising money for a School Bus for
children in Nairobi.
at aroun 8am Tanzanian time, the UK team including 3 members
of our church, Nigel Panter, Simon hilton, and Martin Bovingdon,
arrived on Uhuru peak, the highest point of Kilimanjaro - the
roof of Africa - at 5895m high. So far their fundraising has
reached around £13,000 in pledges and donations. All those
who have sponsored should pay up as soon as possible, but there
is much still to be raised to reach the total of £20,000.
Further donations my be made through the various websites or
making cheques payable to Church Army and giving to one of the
team. the UK Team want to thank everyone for their generosity
and support in prayers, fundraising and encouragement. More

2005 - World Poverty Day
World Poverty Day set for April 24 as party leaders pledge to
outline plans about the future of development. With the election
in full swing, the three main political parties have agreed
to spend one day in the lead-up to ballot day focusing on the
relief of world poverty. More>>
April 2005 - WAKE UP TO TRADE
JUSTICE! as part of GLOBAL ACTION WEEK. All night vigil and
march to raise awareness and call for trade Justice policies
from our government and from the world leaders attending the
G8 Summit in July. Members of Christ Church attended. More info

Margaret Edwards joins Smile international - a UK charity working
sending teams of medical staff to help out in hospitals following
the tragic Tsunami disaster. See more here

Anne and Albert Must announce their retirement (again!) in July
2005 Following this service times at St Anne's change to 930am
for a 3 month trial.
Oct 2004
New Youth work groups begin: Get
active for 7-11 (held Tue weekly at 430-630pm Tuesdays
in Christ Church Centre) and Dare
2 for 15-18 year olds (held fortnightly in the crypt
Christ Church). Funds for these activities was kindly donated
at Gift Day 2004.
Sept 2004
Christ Church Mother and Toddler group in Herne Bay Gazette
- the Group meets Monday's and Wednesday's at 10-12am in the
Crypt.
Aug2004
New Curate Colin Hartley joined the Parish in August 2004.
Aug 2004
Celebration service and funerals held for Alannah and Chloe
both having suffered from Cancer since 2001 and 2002.
May 2004
New Kitchen at Christ Church was opened by Archdeacon of Canterbury
after 1030am service on May 23rd. This project resulted from
our gift day in 2003.
