Easter Craft Ideas

At our Easter workshops each year we do a craft activity. This year in 2006, we made delicious and beautifully simple decorated cakes - why not try one at home! Not only are they simply beautiful, and very quick to put together, they serve as an effective reminder of the true Easter message of Jesus's death on the cross and His victorious resurrection to life again which opens the way for us to know God's forgiveness and have a New Life for ever.

These Easter cakes designed and created by two of our Junior church leaders, Karen Kendall and Marion Philpott. Ideas from past years activities will appear here also in due course.

Here's what you do................
  Here's one I ... just made

Spread the rice cake with a good amount of jam.

Roll out the icing and using a circle cutter about the same size as the rice cake (a glass or cup would be OK) cut out one blue and one green circle.

Cut each one in half.

Place one semi circle of green icing on the rice cake for the grass and one semi circle of blue icing for the sky.

Break the matchmaker in half use one for the upright of the cross. Break the other piece in half again and use to make the horizontal piece across placing either side of the vertical piece. Place the orange or lemon slice on the horizon (like the sun rising) and some flowers on the grass.(Using a little jam to help them stick.)

Hey presto you've done it.
